Oscar winner A.R. Rahman is ready with the Commonwealth Games theme song but the Group of Ministers (GoM) on the Games has asked the composer to tweak it before the opening ceremony.

‘I presented the theme song before the GoM and it was approved. I have been asked to tweak it and it will be released within next 10 days,’ Rahman told reporters here at a function organised to launch the theme song.

‘I think it won’t be good to release the theme song without making the necessary changes,’ he said when asked about the song.

The GoM chaired by Urban Development Minister S. Jaipal Reddy met for the first time Sunday after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh intervened to take stock of the much-criticised preparations for the Oct 3-14 Games.

Rehman’s CWG theme song would be out soon as GoM (Group of Ministers) for Commonwealth Games have picked the Rehman’s CWG theme score for the official Commonwealth Games. They have announced that this CWG theme song by AR Rehman will be available for public in next ten days.

This theme song would be played in the opening ceremony of 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

All the ministers in GoM are pretty much impressed by the AR. Rehman’s work.

A minister told, “The Group of Ministers heard a presentation on the theme song by AR Rahman. We discussed the theme song with Shyam Benegal and Bharat Bala, as well as Rahman, and we approved it in principle.”

He added, “The theme song generates excitement and gives the right message. The theme song will be released for the people of India in 10 day’s time.”

Suresh Kalmadi, the organizing committee chairman has expressed his satisfaction over the CWG theme song.

Suresh Kalmadi said, “I like the song.”

People of India are eagerly waiting for the Commonwealth Games theme song, and all of them are sure about a blockbuster number from none other than the India’s top music director AR. Rehman.
